Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Transportation and Rigging Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations staff, you will be responsible for supporting our estimating and operations teams with transport and rigging drawings, ensuring safety is always at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and Rigging Drawings: Produce CAD drawings for estimating and operations departments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Transportation and Rigging Plans: Develop transportation and/or rigging plans for respective clients/projects, considering safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external consultants and customer's engineers, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Creative Solutions: Develop innovative solutions for customer's projects, leveraging your expertise and knowledge of transportation and rigging.
  • Permit Requests: Take the lead on permit requests and approvals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engineering Analysis: Conduct preliminary engineering analysis to assist estimators in custom fabrication requirements, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Quote Reviews: Participate in quote reviews to assure accuracy and completeness, ensuring our proposals meet customer expectations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively to ensure that our proposals meet customer expectations, striving to identify strategies that give our business an advantage on every project.
  • Estimating and Operational Meetings: Participate in estimating and operational meetings as required, providing valuable input and expertise.
  • Industry Events: Attend regular industry events, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in transportation and rigging.
  • Safe Work Plans: Prepare safe work plans for field work, ensuring the well-being of our employees and contractors.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Education and Experience: Hold EIT, C-Tech, A.Sc Tech, P-Eng or relevant industry experience, with a strong background in transportation and rigging.
  • Construction Experience: Possess previous construction-related experience, with a focus on transportation and rigging.
  • Self-Motivation and Goal-Oriented: Be self-motivated, goal-oriented, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude, with the ability to effectively manage both internal and external customer issues and inquiries.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Possess exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think outside the box and develop creative solutions.
  • Computer and Communication Skills: Have well-developed computer and communication skills, with strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD skills.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license, with the ability to travel to various locations as required.
