About the Role

Groupe DSD Inc is seeking a skilled Injection Molding Set-up Operator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for setting up and operating injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Material Handling: Weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae and monitor the quality of material produced.
  • Machine Operation: Operate mixing machines, calender machines, and extruding machines to blend plastic and other chemicals to a specific consistency and viscosity.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and monitor the quality of material produced and ensure that it meets the required standards.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up and operate one or more moulding machines to mould plastic products and prepare and change moulds and adjust equipment for production line changes.
  • Formulation and Mixing: Follow formulation cards to mix resin batches for injection moulding processes and trim and sand plastic or fiberglass parts.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English or French.
  • Work Environment: Willing to relocate and work in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, dependable, excellent oral communication, organized, reliability, and a team player.
