Position Overview

As a vital member of Groupe DSD Inc, the Injection Molding Set-Up Operator plays a crucial role in the production process. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all plastic products meet the highest standards.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

The ideal candidate should be willing to relocate and possess their own transportation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments to machinery.
  • Accurately weigh resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to specified formulas.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of produced materials.
  • Load weighed materials into mixing machines.
  • Operate mixing equipment to achieve desired consistency and viscosity of plastic mixtures.
  • Transfer mixtures into containers or conveyors for subsequent processing.
  • Set up and operate calender machines to convert plastic bales or slabs into sheets or films of designated thickness.
  • Adjust calender rollers as needed for production line changes.
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to shape plastic compounds through nozzles or dies.
  • Change dies on extruding machines based on production requirements.
  • Prepare and operate molding machines to create plastic products.
  • Modify and change molds and adjust machinery for production line transitions.
  • Follow formulation cards to mix resin batches for the injection molding process.
  • Trim and sand plastic or fiberglass components as necessary.

  • Manual dexterity and capability to handle heavy loads.
  • Comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Work Conditions

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of working in both English and French environments.
