Environmental Remediation Specialist

About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our North American team in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for supporting our clients across Canada and the US in the areas of environmental assessments, risk assessments, risk management planning, and remedial design and implementation.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Environmental Remediation Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of environmental remediation projects, including PRB, slurry walls, and liner/cap/cover scope. You'll also be responsible for:
- Supporting strategic pursuits focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
- Working on multi-disciplinary project teams to provide environmental advice to other GHD teams.
- Remaining current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
- Managing design projects, including budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Developing and reviewing technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Opportunities to work on local, national, and global projects, which may require some travel.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- An accredited Professional Engineer designation in Canada or the US.
- A Civil or Environmental Engineering degree.
- Possession of a designation to be used to stamp/certify designs.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental remediation and risk management.
- Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- A strong commitment to client service excellence.
- Initiative-taking.
