Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC is home to a team of exceptional software engineers dedicated to advancing the internal Control Plane engineering across AWS. Our mission is to develop innovative and secure technologies at scale, ensuring AWS services remain reliable and efficient for our customers.
As a software development engineer on our team, you will utilize cutting-edge technologies and AWS services to enhance productivity across AWS service teams. We seek developers who are passionate about delivering software solutions that address business challenges while providing efficiency and productivity improvements.
AWS service teams often invest significant time and resources into the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of their Control Plane software. Our goal is to centralize these efforts within a dedicated team, significantly reducing the costs associated with developing and maintaining Control Plane solutions.
Our team focuses on automating the infrastructure and software management for both Control Plane and Data Plane of newly managed services. We employ a core services and extension approach, enabling feature activation and the implementation of custom business logic. While we maintain the core building blocks, our customers are responsible for their extension code, with tools provided for deployment and monitoring. Additionally, we offer pre-built kits that combine building blocks to deliver a comprehensive AWS service experience.
We prioritize work-life balance, recognizing the importance of a healthy equilibrium between personal and professional commitments. Our flexible scheduling options are designed to foster a productive and well-rounded lifestyle.
At Amazon, we celebrate diversity and are committed to cultivating an inclusive culture. Our employee-led affinity groups engage over 40,000 employees across more than 190 chapters globally. We provide innovative benefits and facilitate ongoing learning experiences, reinforcing our dedication to inclusion within our leadership principles.

The compensation for this role ranges from $150,700 to $251,700 annually, influenced by various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical and financial benefits.
