Position Overview:

The organization is in search of a Senior Manager for Sustainable Packaging, tasked with driving the execution of RBI's global sustainability initiatives. This role will involve supporting strategic development and leading the implementation of sustainability efforts in key areas. Responsibilities include managing company-wide projects focused on specific issues such as animal welfare and sustainable agriculture, while also aiding in the achievement of sustainability objectives across various departments and functions. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership:
    Oversee the management of RBI's sustainability strategy, establishing goals and policies for packaging in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Analyze and communicate both external and internal trends, supporting the identification of emerging sustainability challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Project Oversight:
    Manage and implement components of RBI's sustainability agenda, ensuring effective project management and collaboration across departments and regional teams regarding packaging initiatives. Develop monitoring and reporting systems to track progress against sustainability targets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Engage with external partners, including industry associations and NGOs, to ensure the relevance of RBI's sustainability initiatives. Facilitate cross-functional leadership engagement, including regular meetings with brand teams and executive leadership.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    Monitor and report on progress related to sustainability commitments to the Senior Director of Sustainability. Collaborate with the sustainability team to update external communications and disclosures as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles, particularly in the food sector, with a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges independently.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a master's degree in business, sustainability, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in packaging and sustainability, ideally within the restaurant industry or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials and sustainable practices, including life cycle analysis and compliance with industry standards.
