Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:
The Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of our product development team, working closely with engineers and designers to develop new products and improve existing ones. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying advanced knowledge and skills to design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new mechanical parts and assemblies for use in new or current products
  • Create 3D part files, manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings using CAD software
  • Improve the design of existing parts to improve manufacturability, reliability, or reduce cost
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) of designs and processes
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for new products and design changes
  • Develop verification and validation plans and conduct product testing
  • Participate in design reviews and build and test prototypes
  • Identify and analyze product, manufacturing, or process issues and implement corrective actions
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and other teams

Requirements:
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, P.Eng. status required
  • 5-6 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in medical device manufacturing or instrumentation
  • Proven experience in designing mechanical components or assemblies from concept to manufacturing
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling CAD software and detailing
  • Good understanding of the design process and ISO quality systems
