About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Development Officer to join our team at Wales McLelland Construction. As an Industrial Development Officer, you will play a key role in promoting industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment
  • Perform administrative tasks to support business development initiatives
  • Plan and develop projects to drive economic growth and commercial development
  • Respond to enquiries from the business community regarding development opportunities
  • Provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval of development proposals
  • Conduct research on marketing strategies for industrial and commercial products
  • Prepare reports, research papers, and educational texts on economic development
  • Conduct social and economic surveys to assess development potential and future trends
  • Review and evaluate commercial and industrial development proposals
  • Design, conduct, and analyze research projects to inform business development decisions
  • Develop feasibility studies to support business investment
  • Implement online marketing and e-commerce strategies to promote business growth
  • Develop marketing strategies to attract business investment
  • Ensure compliance with business and commercial licensing requirements
  • Deliver presentations at conferences and workshops to promote business development
  • Provide ongoing support to clients to ensure business success
  • Prepare project schedules and proposals to support business development initiatives
  • Examine plans, drawings, and site layouts to inform business development decisions
  • Ensure timely issuance of construction permits
  • Complete documentation packages and drawing sets to support business development
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure timely completion and budget adherence
  • Compile, verify, record, and process business applications, licenses, permits, contracts, and other documents
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for business projects and contracts
  • Coordinate work activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 1-2 years of experience in business development or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other business software
