Refrigeration HVAC Specialist

About the Role
Ainsworth, a leading provider of building systems services, is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Systems Technician to join our team on Vancouver Island. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Ainsworth in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Read, interpret, and create technical drawings and specifications.
- Install and maintain air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and components.
- Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating units, and systems.
- Repair and replace worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems.
- Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned apprentices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of modern equipment and regulations.
- Service area of Vancouver Island with home base in the central island.
- Participate in an alternating on-call schedule to maintain critical services after hours.
- Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner.
Requirements
- Journeyperson with Gas B, GAS A Ticket preferred.
- FSR preferred.
- High School diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
- A current driver's license.
- A valid and up-to-date Certificate of Qualification.
- Knowledge and skill of tools, equipment, and materials and practices of the trade.
- Knowledge of applicable HVAC/R codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of HVAC Controls.
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
