About This Role

Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI, is seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our team on Vancouver Island. We are a Canada-wide company that leads in the building systems industry, providing a range of services including Electrical, Building Automation, Card Access/Security, and Mechanical Services.

  • As a representative of Ainsworth, you will provide professional, courteous, and customer service-oriented interactions with clients.
  • You will read, interpret, create, and maintain drawings and specifications.
  • Install, repair, and maintain air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and components.
  • Overhaul and service air conditioning, heating units, and systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems.
  • Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
  • Provide instruction to customers on proper care and maintenance.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned apprentices.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern equipment and regulations.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson with Gas B, GAS A Ticket preferred.
  • FSR preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification from a certified college.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Valid and up-to-date Certificate of Qualification.
  • Knowledge and skill of tools, equipment, and materials and practices of the trade.
  • Awareness of applicable HVAC/R codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Awareness of HVAC Controls.
  • Knowledge of trade hazards and safety precautions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
