Position Overview: Developer & IT Administrator (In-house)

Location: Burnaby, BC

Role Summary:

We are seeking a multifaceted in-house Developer & IT Administrator. This hybrid position encompasses both software development and IT management, focused on improving our operational and research functions. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating and integrating systems that enhance business efficiency, automating workflows through Microsoft 365 and proprietary tools, and providing support for scientific and robotic programming using Python. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a variety of projects, from optimizing workflow processes to developing solutions for scientific robotics.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in software development and IT management, showcasing the ability to design and integrate sophisticated systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a creative mindset for addressing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite, along with experience in APIs and system integration.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and advancement in technology and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement systems to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Automate routine tasks to increase productivity and reduce errors.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to customize technological solutions that meet their needs.
  • Oversee and optimize IT infrastructure to ensure stability and performance.
  • Serve as a liaison between operational needs and IT capabilities to facilitate the introduction of new systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and technological enhancements.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for developed systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and software practices to foster innovation within the organization.
