Job Title: Dean of Business School

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Dean of Business School at St. Francis Xavier University. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of business programs, as well as overseeing the academic and administrative activities of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business programs that align with the university's strategic goals
  • Oversee the academic and administrative activities of the business school, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment and development, and budget management
  • Collaborate with faculty officials to develop registration policies and procedures
  • Direct and control academic and related activities of the business school
  • Evaluate academic activities and make recommendations for improvement
  • Plan and organize academic and related activities, including registration and vocational activities
  • Consult with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure conformance to provincial standards
  • Develop curriculum for training programs and direct research and curriculum development
  • Recruit and hire teachers and other staff, and advise the president or rector on academic matters
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for projects, programs, support services, and equipment
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in higher education administration, preferably in a business school
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire faculty and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities
