We are in search of a Sales Vice President who will report directly to our General Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in achieving all set sales objectives and will significantly contribute to the expansion of J.D. Irving. The Sales Vice President will collaborate with executive leadership to pinpoint new business prospects and formulate and execute growth strategies. You will be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining a high-performing sales team through a comprehensive performance evaluation, regular talent assessments, and ongoing employee development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and motivate the sales organization to capitalize on growth opportunities and meet business goals. Establish and nurture strong relationships with key executives and decision-makers across major customer accounts. Be an essential member of the executive team; empower your team with outstanding leadership and promote genuine business collaboration.
  2. Provide guidance, support, and direction to the sales team. Cultivate a high-performing environment by enhancing employee experiences. Identify succession plans for critical roles, recognize professional development opportunities, and implement enrichment activities. Offer timely feedback and proactive coaching.
  3. Collaborate closely with business leaders to develop sales and lead generation strategies and analyze sales performance. Create value propositions and pricing strategies that enhance operational efficiencies. Oversee market research and provide accurate data for sales planning while tracking corporate sales pipeline and performance using CRM tools.
  4. Stay updated on market trends, industry changes, and competitive dynamics, analyzing customer behavior and go-to-market strategies to identify new business opportunities and mitigate potential risks for sustained competitive advantage.
  5. Allocate and manage resources to execute sales initiatives within terminals and ensure the achievement of objectives. Act as a liaison between customers, terminal operations, and various departments.
  6. Establish and achieve sales budgets and incentive targets. Lead the development of sales training programs.

Qualifications:

  1. Education Required: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of sales management experience, with at least 5 years at the executive level, preferably in the transportation sector.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, multi-faceted business acumen, and exceptional influencing and communication skills.
  4. Ability to present and communicate effectively at various organizational levels.
  5. Passion for growth, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  6. Comfortable engaging with large groups, possessing strong persuasion skills, disciplined organizational capabilities, effective decision-making skills, and confidence.
