The Role

We're seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join our team in Ottawa, working out of our Antares Branch. As a key member of our billing team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Answering client calls regarding payments
  • Controlling the flow of walk-in customers and callers
  • Providing assistance to the Commercial Insurance Account Executive
  • Servicing Independent Business Unit accounts
  • Providing customers with prompt service by offering advice and helping them understand insurance
  • Receiving and processing all incoming Commercial paperwork
  • Assisting with quotes to customers, reviewing existing coverage, and updating customer file information
  • Preparing documentation for insurers, completing applications for new clients, and issuing insurance certificates
  • Processing endorsements, invoices, and following up on payments
  • Communicating with insurance companies, negotiating with underwriters on behalf of customers, negotiating renewal of terms, and following up with adjusters on claims status

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • High school and/or post-secondary education
  • 2-5 years' experience in an office environment
  • Commercial insurance experience is an asset
  • RIBO license is an asset
  • Exposure to Epic is an asset
  • Previous sales experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
