The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of our care team, responsible for providing high-quality, resident-centered care to our seniors. As a LPN, you will be the role model and team leader to an assigned unit, coordinating care delivery and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:- Assess residents' needs and implement individualized care plans to maximize their quality of life.
- Liaise with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Administer medications and treatments within the scope of your practice, and monitor residents' physical and psychological conditions.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Care Conferences and contribute to care plan reviews to ensure current and individualized care plans.
- Support the administrative requirements of the community, including admissions and confidentiality maintenance.
- Actively participate in orientation of new staff, community programs, and educational in-services.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of community policies and procedures, particularly those concerning emergency procedures.
- Graduate of an approved program for Practical Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an LPN.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification.
- Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
- Previous experience in a long term care facility an asset.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Computer skills including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
