About the Role

The Government of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst, Leases to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing lease accounting and providing expert financial advice to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze over 200 lease contracts to assess financial impacts and ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Compile and interpret monthly lease financial results and compare with budget allocation to propose recommendations on financial implications of negotiated lease terms and rates.
  • Provide expert financial advice and stewardship on management of costing and budgets relating to lease contracts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) and a membership in good standing.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent, related experience in lease accounting, lease reporting, and application of lease policies.
  • Experience analyzing contracts, financial and accounting statements for leases.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in Oracle.
