Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc. As a key member of our Planning and Engineering department, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of capital projects, ensuring that community projects are completed successfully on time, on budget, and in accordance with our objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the planning, construction, and maintenance of water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems, as well as road systems.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including feasibility studies, construction plans, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate community consultation events and engagement.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress.
  • Ensure deliverables meet the project scope and budget.
  • Prepare reports for leadership regarding project status.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of our Asset Management Program.
  • Provide information and explain policy to builders, developers, government agencies, and the public.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to register with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on project development and management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of construction, appraisal, feasibility analysis, community consultation, and municipal development approval processes.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing demands simultaneously.
  • Client-focused and able to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Knowledge of government funding mechanisms and approval processes.

  • Experience working with First Nations communities, organizations, and programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
