Family Support Specialist

Family Support Specialist: The Family Support Specialist plays a crucial role in aiding the Community Transition Team by enhancing the understanding of unique family dynamics, strengths, and necessary supports to effectively assist families during the youth's transition back home. This position is responsible for identifying and facilitating connections to essential services for parents, as well as guiding families in locating and accessing community-based resources that serve as alternatives or supplements to CTT services.
Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates for the Family Support Specialist role should have personal experience with a child or relative who has transitioned out of the Department of Youth Services (DYS). Previous involvement with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families or the juvenile justice system may also be taken into account.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
