Family Support Specialist

Family Support Specialist: The Family Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Community Transition Team by providing insights into unique family dynamics, strengths, and necessary supports to effectively aid families during the youth's transition back home. This position involves identifying and facilitating connections to essential services for parents, as well as helping families recognize and access community-based resources that serve as alternatives or supplements to Community Transition Team services.
Preferred Qualifications: It is advantageous for the Family Support Specialist to have personal experience, such as having a child or relative who has transitioned out of the Department of Youth Services (DYS). Previous involvement with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families or the juvenile justice system may also be taken into account.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
