International Banking Financing Consultant

Position Overview
What is the role?
As a Financing Consultant specializing in International Subsidiary Banking, you will serve as the credit authority within a dynamic commercial banking Client Relationship Team. Your direct engagement with clients will enhance their experience as you become a trusted strategic advisor, delivering exceptional business, financial, and credit insights while supporting portfolio management. Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers, you will facilitate credit discovery and provide advice that leads to the preparation of discussion papers and the onboarding of new borrowing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize comprehensive client discovery and financial analysis expertise to fulfill client expectations regarding credit requests and the execution of annual reviews.
- Deliver high-quality business analysis and credit recommendations through presentations that effectively communicate the advantages and benefits to clients.
- Showcase RBC's ability to offer innovative financial solutions promptly, ensuring that credit solutions align with or surpass client needs.
- Commit to teamwork and collaboration by sharing best practices and assisting colleagues in meeting the diverse needs of clients.
- Exercise due diligence in endorsing credit applications, working collaboratively with Credit Adjudicators to support risk management processes and guidelines.
Qualifications for Success
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in commercial lending with a solid understanding of financial, risk, and credit analysis/structuring to support outstanding client relationship management.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with a focus on client-centric service.
- Familiarity with emerging resources, communication technologies, and digital banking tools.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent presentation abilities.
- Post-secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Specialized industry knowledge from previous roles (e.g., real estate, healthcare, agriculture).
- Professional designations such as CPA or CFA.
