Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

As a Financing Consultant specializing in International Subsidiary Banking, you will serve as the credit authority within a high-performing commercial banking Client Relationship Team. Your direct engagement with clients will enhance their experience as you act as a trusted strategic advisor, delivering exceptional business, financial, and credit guidance while supporting portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced client discovery and financial assessment skills to fulfill client expectations regarding credit requests and annual reviews.
  • Provide comprehensive business analysis and credit recommendations through presentations that effectively communicate the benefits and advantages to clients.
  • Showcase the capability of RBC to deliver innovative financial solutions promptly, ensuring credit offerings align with client needs.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration by sharing best practices and assisting colleagues in addressing client requirements.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence in endorsing credit applications, collaborating closely with Credit Adjudicators to support risk management processes and guidelines.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial lending with a solid understanding of financial, risk, and credit analysis/structuring to support outstanding client relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, adept at managing multiple priorities while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with emerging resources, communication tools, and technology (e.g., online data resources, virtual meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Specialized industry knowledge from previous roles (e.g., real estate, healthcare, agriculture).
  • Professional designations such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
