About the Position
The Device Software division at eero is in search of a Senior Engineer to join our Automation and Fleet Management team. This team will work in close collaboration with our established device software group. The selected candidate will be tasked with creating our automation framework and enhancing test coverage for upcoming hardware to guarantee the quality of new features and products we introduce. Team members will work alongside other developers, QA, and software teams to continuously elevate the quality of eero products. This position demands a solid foundation in software engineering principles, along with a keen interest in building automation frameworks, expanding test coverage, generating reports, and collaborating with QA and developers to troubleshoot issues. This is an excellent opportunity to significantly influence all facets of the product while collaborating with a top-tier team that values design excellence, meticulousness, technological advancement, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation frameworks
- Partner with QA to automate and broaden test coverage
- Create testing stations for new products
- Enhance existing automation frameworks and stations
- Develop and execute test scripts utilizing automation frameworks
- Produce analytical reports on automation outcomes
- Collaborate with QA and developers to analyze automation test results and troubleshoot failures
- Work with release managers to refine and automate the release process for customer-facing features
- Enhance engineering methodologies and tools to boost software development speed and code quality
- Analyze metrics related to fleet health and drive automation for generating fleet health reports and support alerting
- Mentor junior engineers on various projects
A Typical Day
At eero, we operate as a compact and agile team. This structure allows you to have a substantial impact and take on diverse responsibilities. Throughout your day, you will architect, design, and develop features and applications on eero's operating system - eeroOS. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Customer Experience teams to architect and define new or enhance existing customer/product features. Your tasks will include designing and implementing code, testing, deploying, and maintaining these across the eero device fleet.

- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems (non-internship)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- 3+ years of experience in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
