Job Overview

The Building Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the effective management of residential properties. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and the satisfaction of tenants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Staff Management: Recruit and oversee rental agents and building superintendents.
  • Lease Management: Negotiate or approve rental agreements on behalf of property owners, ensuring compliance with lease terms.
  • Support Staff Oversight: Hire and manage support personnel engaged in operational, clerical, or maintenance tasks.
  • Contract Administration: Prepare and manage contracts for property services, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee the implementation of repairs, maintenance, and renovation projects.
  • Financial Monitoring: Track progress and costs of work on behalf of property owners.
  • Record Keeping: Compile and maintain records of operating expenses and income.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed expense and income reports.
  • Client Relations: Ensure timely responses to inquiries and trouble calls from clients or tenants.
Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years and less than 3 years of relevant experience in property management or a related field.

Support Initiatives

Newcomer and Refugee Support: Assist with immediate settlement needs, including housing and transportation, and provide mentorship programs pairing newcomers with experienced staff.

Indigenous Support: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, along with cultural competency training for all employees to foster an inclusive work environment.
