Opportunity: HVAC Field Technician

We are seeking detail-oriented HVAC Field Technicians for construction installation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC systems. You will be responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty, and emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding new installations of HVAC and Refrigeration systems
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements
  • Assisting with customer queries

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Being in good standing with the Ontario College of Trades is essential
  • WAH, H&S Awareness, Scissor Lift, G1, 313A, ODP training certificates are preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a commercial HVAC Service technician, and a willingness to continue education in the HVAC field – on both the heating and cooling side
  • Experience with refrigeration piping / construction as well as service (maintenance & break-fix troubleshooting) is preferred
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating, boiler systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
  • Ability to work in confined spaces – certification in confined space is preferred
  • Excellent time management – as with autonomy comes greater responsibility
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, translating technical terms into common language for the end-user
