Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Centennial Building Services Incorporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Coordinate Cleaning Staff: Hire, train, and manage a team of cleaning staff to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular site inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Recommend Additional Services: Identify opportunities for additional services such as painting, repair work, or renovations and recommend them to management.
  • Assist with Cleaning Duties: Assist cleaning staff with their duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the cleaning team.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of work activities.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
  • Work Environment: Wet/damp, odours, dusty
  • Work Setting: Office building, willing to relocate, cleaning service company, commercial facility
  • Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, physically demanding, manual dexterity, combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, reliability
