Automotive Service Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team at Rock Country in Thompso. As an Automotive Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex automotive issues, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and diagnose automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic tools and other specialized equipment
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
  • Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repairs
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocational program resulting in a valid Automotive Service Technician Certification of Qualification
  • Completion of a four-year automotive service technician apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience and industry courses in automotive technology
  • Red Seal endorsement available to qualified automotive service technicians upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination
  • Strong aptitude in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Effective diagnostic aptitude, with strong time management skills
  • Detailed customer-centric approach and a team player
