As a well-established nursing home, Oakwood Terrace is managed by the Dartmouth Senior Care Society, which prioritizes the needs of residents while also supporting our staff. We are excited about our future plans to expand our services with a new facility for 144 residents.

Position Overview:

The Physiotherapist will be instrumental in assessing, treating, educating, and managing residents within the realm of Physiotherapy. This role requires adherence to all relevant organizational policies, procedures, and regulations governing Physiotherapy Services. The Physiotherapist will collaborate closely with the Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Assistant to deliver integrated Rehabilitation Services.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Physiotherapist will actively participate in meetings aimed at enhancing resident healthcare and ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

· Graduate from an accredited Physiotherapy program

· Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Nova Scotia

· Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association

· Understanding of various healthcare disciplines and their priorities

· Familiarity with patient care management principles

· Awareness of the psychological, social, cultural, spiritual, and economic factors affecting elderly care

· Physical capability to meet the demands of the role

· Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, judgment, and decision-making skills

· Experience working with elderly populations in a long-term care setting is advantageous.
