Building Maintenance Manager

About the Role
The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and providing exceptional customer service to our tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Manage a team of maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with business objectives.
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants and respond to their maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as facilities management or a trade.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing maintenance teams and projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
