Cystic Fibrosis Canada is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Bilingual Program Lead - Healthcare and Community Relations. This role will play a critical part in supporting the execution of our strategic direction specific to healthcare and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of our healthcare strategic plan and program, including the planning and delivery of all healthcare program components and deliverables.
- Lead the project management of strategic projects, including the development of national standards of care, health and human resource guidelines, burden of disease project, mental health strategies, and more.
- Support clinician engagement through co-leading various discipline working groups and other meetings.
- Lead community/stakeholder engagement efforts, including engaging with patients, families/caregivers, and the CF medical community.
- Assist with the standards and guidelines portfolio by leading various aspects of project management.
- Develop program reports, patient/caregiver resources, and clinician resources related to the healthcare portfolio.
- Manage healthcare inbox and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide logistical support for various stakeholder meetings and events.
- Manage Cystic Fibrosis Canada's Helpline inbox and respond to requests from people living with cystic fibrosis and their caregivers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of our government relations and advocacy programs.
- Plan and deliver volunteer and community engagement initiatives, peer-to-peer exchanges, webinars, and community briefings.
- Grow, develop, and steward members of the National Advocacy Network (NAN), with a focus on building volunteer capacity and engagement in Quebec.
- Oversee the NAN Facebook Group and provide social media and newsletter content.
- Manage advocacy inbox and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Leverage relationships with NAN and community members to include their stories in our blog, newsletter, social media, and web content.
- Provide logistics support for lobbying days at Parliament and provincial/territorial legislatures.
- Assist in developing government briefing kits, submissions, and other communications.
- University undergraduate degree in Health/Life Sciences, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or related field.
- Over 4 years of experience in community engagement with knowledge of stakeholder engagement best practices.
- Knowledge of adult learning and facilitation techniques.
- Knowledge of Canadian or provincial healthcare and/or hospital systems.
- Demonstrated success in effectively communicating advocacy initiatives and outcomes.
- Experience working with underserved populations.
- Over 3 years of experience with project coordination/management tools and processes.
- Excellent communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- Excellent relationship building, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual/French speaking.
