Position Overview

The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is seeking a dedicated Head Skate Instructor for a contract role. NVRC is committed to fostering healthy communities through diverse recreational and cultural initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

As the Head Skate Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding skating experiences for participants. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching and mentoring a team of Skating Instructors
  • Developing and overseeing Skating Lesson Plans
  • Scheduling and supervising instructional sessions
  • Providing direct skating instruction to participants

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a collaborative individual who values community engagement. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with a diverse audience. Key attributes include:

  • Proven leadership experience with strong supervisory capabilities
  • Effective instructional techniques
  • Strong communication skills with both team members and clients
  • Current Standard First Aid certification
  • HIGH FIVE certification

All applicants must complete a Police Information Check as part of the hiring process. Flexibility to work across various facilities is essential.

Compensation

Hourly wage will be determined based on experience and education, with expected hours ranging from 20-30 hours per week in fall and winter, and 12-18 hours per week in spring and summer.
