Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team.
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and provide education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with patients and families to promote autonomy and decision-making.
- Participate in care conferences and councils to ensure comprehensive care planning.
- Document patient information and outcomes according to practice standards.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- BC Cancer Agency Chemotherapy Certification.
- Knowledge of chemotherapy indications, actions, reactions, routes, dosages, and side effects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
