About the Opportunity:

The City of Airdrie is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Aquatics team as a Water Recreation Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing quality recreation through programming, public, and lane swim opportunities to citizens in and around Airdrie.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor slide usage to ensure the safety of patrons through education and rule enforcement
  • Provide first aid as required
  • General cleanliness and maintenance of aquatics area and change rooms
  • Supervise and lead lifeguards and pool operations
  • Coordinate provision of lifeguard and instructional services
  • Perform administrative and maintenance duties
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of age for Water Slide Attendant and Lifeguard/Instructor roles
  • Minimum 18 years of age for Aquatic Shift Leader role
  • Related lifeguarding experience and supervisory experience preferred
  • Current certifications in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse team environment

Additional Information:

Schedules are created to match employee availability to operational and seasonal needs. This position may involve daytime, early morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Successful candidates must have the flexibility to work different shifts each week. You may be in the water for up to 4 hours per shift. Part-time hours, as needed.
