As a Physician Assistant in our Emergency Department, you will work collaboratively with our Senior ED physicians to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include conducting patient interviews, performing physical examinations, and organizing laboratory and diagnostic investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient interviews and take medical histories
  • Perform physical examinations and interpret findings
  • Organize laboratory and diagnostic investigations
  • Assist patients and families with the transition from ED to the community
  • Communicate with ED physicians regarding updates and investigations
  • Perform certain acts under medical directives delegated by a physician
  • Perform other duties within your competencies as a Physician Assistant

Qualifications:

  • Must be a PA Ontario Graduate from either McMaster or Consortium education program
  • Certified or eligible to be certified through the PACC
  • Current BCLS, ACLS required
  • Must have demonstrated an interest in the specialty of Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in both verbal and written format with patients, public, colleagues, and other health disciplines
  • Demonstrated competency to perform complete and appropriate clinical assessment and development of a treatment plan in accordance with medical directives
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative medical model of care with all members of the healthcare team
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Additional Information:

Site: Georgetown

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 10 hour shifts (hours subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $ per hour - $ per hour
