Job Description

About the Role:

Messer Americas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting field-related purchasing activities, operational activities, and tactical activities within the HUB procurement area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and execute transactional purchases (repetitive and low-value purchases) in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Supervise and coordinate materials procurement daily activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all tasks through ERP systems.
  • Monitor the follow-up and expediting of supplier deliveries, ensuring audit readiness of all purchasing documents at all times.
  • Trigger an effective execution of the sourcing process as required, according to the value of the purchasing transaction, through an adequate use of the available SRM/SAP or any procurement tools and procedures.
  • Lead the expediting of urgent/emergency orders and provide consistently excellent customer service to all parties with whom you interact.
  • Resolve delivery, quality, or other related issues with purchase orders and invoices, changing product pricing to match supplier price changes, and documenting all inquiries and resolutions for future reference.
  • Quantify and track all cost reductions and cost avoidance's, as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as identified on your Professional Management Plan (PMP).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field).
  • Minimum of four years' experience in procurement or supply chain.
  • Bilingual English and French skills are a plus.
  • Strong customer focus and strong interpersonal skills.
