Job Overview:
- The Procurement Specialist position works closely with the Client Healthcare Canadian business team to refine regional strategies, enhance efficiency, and optimize operations through effective management of the regional supplier network for the Category MES (Managed Equipment Services).
- This role supports regional business leaders and their teams, as well as other Client Business Procurement Leaders, in negotiating with suppliers of medical equipment for the MES initiative.
- Given that suppliers may also act as competitors, candidates must demonstrate exceptional negotiation capabilities and the skill to formulate strategic agreements.
- Expertise in procurement best practices is crucial, with a focus on recognizing external competition and unique differentiators.
- Applicants should be proficient in data analytics and capable of developing innovative solutions. Strong negotiation and contracting skills are essential.
- Improve business efficiency for MES procurement in Canada by identifying cost-reduction opportunities, implementing operational improvements, and increasing productivity.
- Support procurement strategies and corporate policies by negotiating with key suppliers, ensuring regional alignment, and integrating business critical quality (CTQ) requirements.
- Conduct spend analysis to identify and develop productivity initiatives, collaborating with the Procurement and Multivendor Service team for project implementation in Canada. Oversee project execution and escalation for initiatives managed by Regional Procurement Leaders.
- Mitigate risks within the supplier network to ensure compliance and quality standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with Regional Procurement Leaders to share best practices and leverage collective expertise.
- Assist the Service procurement team in spend and supplier classification activities to drive business metrics. Participate in supplier business reviews to assess quality and performance metrics, negotiate terms, and enhance productivity.
- Work with other procurement category teams to align with global procurement strategies and corporate spending. Exhibit a global perspective and cross-regional collaboration skills.
- Ensure adherence to Preferred Suppliers across the region and collaborate with stakeholders to minimize leakage.
- Comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and relevant laws and regulations in their category.
- Report any quality or compliance issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Familiarity with Purchasing Controls Procedures to ensure that procured products and services meet specified requirements.
- Promote a qualified and compliant supplier base.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, or a High School Diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to lead virtual teams effectively.
- Skilled negotiator for supplier pricing, terms, and contracts.
- Tenacious and effective communicator across various levels and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet commitments and targets.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple projects and initiatives, including cost-saving strategies.
- Experience with data analysis tools and supply base strategy development to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, understanding internal customer needs and CTQs.
- Ability to excel in a matrix environment, perform well under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines.
