Overview: Our client, a prominent law firm, is seeking a dedicated Leasing Law Clerk to support their operations. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and modify commercial lease agreements, including leases, subleases, offers to lease, and related documents.
- Coordinate and oversee lease due diligence initiatives.
- Prepare and register notices of lease, short forms of lease, and other title-related documents.
- Effectively manage commercial lease negotiations from inception to conclusion with guidance from a supervising attorney.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Leasing Law Clerk.
- Successful completion of a relevant post-secondary education program in legal assistance or law clerk studies.
- ILCO certification or a commitment to obtain it.
- Familiarity with title-related matters and the ability to interpret sub-searches is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptability to the evolving demands of the role.
- Proficiency in document comparison software such as Workshare Compare.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite of Applications.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, and effective prioritization skills. This role is suited for individuals who are proactive, possess excellent writing and communication skills, and have a keen interest in lease management.
