Job Description:

As a Project Engineer at Project Redirect Inc Of The Distric, you will be responsible for managing packaging development activities for new model projects. This involves studying part design change points, establishing ideal pack designs that maintain part quality, and achieving supply chain operating cost targets through best pack design implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement packaging development plans based on overall project specifications
  • Coordinate stakeholder requirements and conduct meetings throughout the development flow to achieve project goals
  • Communicate project details to various audiences and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Summarize required change points and concerns with justification, and evaluate, test, and implement packaging designs and change points to validate packaging maintains part quality specs
  • Design, procure, verify, and conduct trials for effectiveness while identifying critical impact or risks
  • Manage timing related to change points, understand department requirements, and ensure each packaging maturation stage is documented using standard development forms
  • Maintain file structure, naming convention, and revisions, and ensure customers' needs are met with zero impact due to missed project targets

Requirements:

  • Project management skills
  • Ability to identify new model changes
  • Understanding of design change flow, budget payment, and timing
  • Knowledge of past problem history related to the supply base
  • Knowledge of process, equipment, business, and human constraints
  • CRF reporting and tracking
  • Understanding of project SAP milestones and targets
  • Ability to conduct meetings during new model development
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Relationship building
  • Effective communication
  • File management and organization
  • Ability to maintain data accuracy
  • Ability to summarize concerns and justify needs
  • Ability to escalate problems if they occur
  • Knowledge of Honda Systems
