Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Project Redirect Inc Of The Distric. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing packaging development activity for new model projects, studying part design change points, and establishing ideal pack designs that maintain part quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage packaging development activity for new model projects
  • Study part design change points and establish ideal pack designs
  • Achieve supply chain operating cost targets by implementing best pack designs
  • Establish development activity plans based on overall project SAP
  • Coordinate stakeholders' requirements and conduct meetings throughout development flow
  • Clearly understand and communicate project activities
  • Verify fabricator deliverables and schedules
  • Effectively use technical experience to sell ideas and secure buy-in for optimal pack designs
  • Communicate project details to audience's understanding and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Summarize required change points and concerns with justification identified
  • Evaluate, test, and implement packaging designs and change points to validate packaging maintains part quality specs
  • Design, procure, verify, and conduct trials for effectiveness while identifying critical impacts or risks
  • Recognize potential impacts and past problem history that affects stakeholders
  • Manage timing related to change points and understand department requirements and purpose of each build event
  • Ensure each packaging maturation stage is documented using standard development forms
  • Confirm all data created during project is complete, accurate, and usable for all downstream customers
  • Maintain file structure, naming conventions, and revisions
  • Ensure customers' needs are met with zero impact due to missed project targets, and that customer supports and agrees that deliverables are in best interest of overall unit
  • Escalate issues to management to ensure allocation of resources and appropriate action is taken in timely manner

Requirements:

  • Project management skills
  • Ability to identify new model changes
  • Understanding of Design Change Flow
  • Understanding of budget payment and timing
  • Knowledge of past problem history related to supply base
  • Knowledge of process, equipment, business, and human constraints
  • Understanding of daily department activity and business plan
  • CRF reporting and tracking
  • Understanding of Project SAP milestones and targets
  • Ability to conduct meetings during new model development
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Relationship building
  • File management and organization
  • Ability to maintain data accuracy
  • Ability to summarize concerns and justify needs
  • Ability to escalate problems if they occur
  • Knowledge of Honda Systems
  • Ability to utilize DCMS: read drawings and MI's
  • Knowledge of New model flow (E-Flow)
  • Mentorship skills
  • Knowledge of safety ergonomics
  • Honda Business Knowledge
  • General Knowledge of Honda genpos and their unique conditions and characteristics
  • Independent worker and team player who can work with various teams on-site and remotely
  • Capable of keeping track of multiple projects and maintaining accurate data and documentation
  • Maintain and build good relationships while working in high-paced business environment
  • Frequent overtime and regional travel
  • Required to attend and lead collaboration meetings
