Job Title: Safety Management System (SMS) ManagerLocation: Calgary, Alberta
Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership and management within the department to ensure the effective implementation of our Safety Management System (SMS).
- Establish and maintain an accountable SMS organization that promotes a culture of safety performance review and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for SMS maturity, ensuring alignment with Transport Canada issued Certificates.
- Manage the SMS across all aspects of our operations, including training and communication, to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Monitor and measure safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Support and collaborate with our Quality Assurance team to ensure seamless integration of SMS with our quality management system.
- Manage and maintain control of SMS documents and records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Valid AME License or bachelor's degree in engineering or aerospace.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace, with a minimum of 5 years of SMS-related experience.
- CRSP or RCAF qualification is an asset.
- Experience with ERP or MRP software and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience in safety performance monitoring and assessments, with a strong understanding of aviation regulations.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage conflict.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
