About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Shining Stars Daycare & OSC. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality childcare and education to our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Collaborate with our team to design and implement engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our students.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities, tell stories, teach songs, and organize outings to local points of interest, promoting cognitive, emotional, and social development in our students.
  • Logistics and Administration: Order supplies and equipment, assist in maintaining accurate records, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Support and Encouragement: Foster creativity in our students through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, while also guiding them in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with our staff to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment, and effectively communicate with parents and guardians to ensure seamless transitions and progress updates.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and meet the necessary security clearance requirements.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling throughout the workday.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as reliability, teamwork, and a strong sense of values and ethics.
Work Environment and Conditions
  • Work Setting: Our daycare and OSC operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Work Hours: This is a permanent position, with a typical workweek consisting of 30-35 hours.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in our workplace.
