This program is offered throughout Simcoe County.

**Description of the Program**:
The Early Childhood Education Assistant Training Program is a funded opportunity that aims to provide young people between the ages of 18-30 with pre-employment training and hands-on learning experiences to enter into the childhood educator sector. Participants complete 6 weeks of full-time virtual pre-employment training. For the 6-week duration, a non-taxed training stipend of $15.50/hour will be provided. Following the pre-employment training, participants will work to secure a position in a daycare/early childhood center to complete a full-time 12-week work experience. At this time a wage increase indictive of the specific childhood center will be put in place ($16.50-$18.50).

This program is offered throughout Simcoe County.

**Eligibility Requirements**:

- Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, and not in school
- Participants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Participants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Participants must be able to work a full-time, 35-hour work week in Simcoe County
- Participants must be able to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check/Police Record Check upon entering into the program
- Participants must be up to date on all mandatory immunizations and provide proof of immunization upon acceptance into the program
