About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Burlington, Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the performance of mechanical engineers and review deliverables to ensure high-quality results.
  • Facilitate the purchase of equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement.
  • Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing capital cost estimates.
  • Take on a mechanical lead role on major projects, including managing engineers and designers, organizing mechanical work, and managing project budget and schedule.
  • Assist in the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input.
  • Issue drawings and engineering deliverables for construction by working with engineers and designers.
About You
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Previous experience in Minerals & Metals is a must, with Oil & Gas being an asset.
  • 10-12 years of mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, preferably with gold and copper.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently using personal knowledge, external consultants, and in-house experience.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D software, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
  • Commitment to mentoring and coaching personnel.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
