Role Purpose

As a Mechanical Operations Supervisor, you will be tasked with planning, scheduling, and allocating resources for specific tasks within the workshop and yard. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the safe and efficient execution of freight car repairs and inspections. The ideal candidate will promote a culture centered on safety, excel in communication, and maintain accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of maintenance specialists in performing repairs, inspections, testing, and upkeep on freight cars, mobile equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure that all freight car repairs comply with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and achieve performance objectives.
  • Take responsibility for safety, service quality, productivity, and financial performance metrics.
  • Enforce safety measures within the terminal and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct briefings to ensure accurate documentation and effective communication during shift transitions.
  • Guide and provide constructive feedback to mechanical staff for skill enhancement.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in logistics or operational settings.
  • Willingness to work various shifts in all weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
