Work Equipment Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary
As a Work Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our railway equipment fleet. You will lead a team of skilled maintainers, overseeing their performance and guiding them to achieve optimal results while adhering to strict safety protocols and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct supervision and guidance to a team of maintainers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in work equipment maintenance practices.
- Implement and enforce CPKC safety policies and procedures, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel involved in equipment maintenance activities.
- Monitor financial performance within assigned budgets, effectively managing resources to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance programs (PPM) for all assigned work equipment, analyzing inspection reports and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement innovative work processes that enhance productivity, streamline operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
- Prepare comprehensive condition reports for all work equipment, documenting its current state and any necessary repairs or maintenance actions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment work orders and maintenance activities, ensuring data integrity and facilitating efficient tracking of maintenance history.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across various departments to ensure seamless coordination and support for all maintenance operations.
- Monitor inventory levels, maintaining optimal stock levels to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to maintainers and machine operators, fostering their professional development and enhancing their technical skills.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a railway work equipment maintenance environment.
- Journeymen certificate as a heavy-duty mechanic is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with CPKC policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Rules qualified.
- Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of CPKC systems such as SAP.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines in both routine and emergency situations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving common goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders.
