Position Overview

Field Sales Account Executive for Multi-Family Housing Sector

In the role of Field Sales Account Executive, you will take charge of promoting and selling MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) products to a designated portfolio of multi-family housing units and community residences. This position demands effective account management, strategic business development, and deepening relationships with existing clients. A competitive base salary complemented by a monthly sales performance bonus is offered. Essential tools such as a laptop/tablet, mobile phone, vehicle allowance, and fuel card will be provided. The operational territory is generally defined as east of Jarvis Rd, south of the 401, and west of Birchmont Rd.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in direct sales to multi-family housing and facilities maintenance sectors.
  • A minimum of 3 years in business-to-business (B2B) field sales.
  • Proven sales experience with HD Supply facility clients and related products.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with handheld technology.
  • Knowledge of facility products including hardware, electrical components, lighting, and more.
  • Competence in MS Excel and Salesforce, or equivalent CRM software.
  • Experience in consultative and solution-based selling.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve or surpass sales targets in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across various organizational levels.
  • Manage sales volume with an existing customer base while successfully prospecting to expand clientele.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance business presence in the assigned region. Share market insights and competitor information with relevant teams within the organization; foster relationships and collaborative partnerships.
  • Participate in monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations and attend local trade shows, as well as regional or national events as necessary.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in a comfortable indoor setting, with infrequent exposure to unpleasant conditions.
  • Most of the time will be spent seated comfortably, with regular opportunities for movement. Occasional lifting of light items may be required.
  • Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is generally required. Typically, 2-5 years of experience in a related area is expected, or a Master’s degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience. Certification may be necessary in certain fields.
