About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Manager, Insurance and Risk Management. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of insurance and risk management principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective insurance and risk management strategies to minimize risk and maximize returns.
  • Lead a team of professionals in the administration of the insurance portfolio and risk management program.
  • Provide guidance and support to government departments, agencies, boards, commissions, insurers, and other stakeholders on risk and insurance matters.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement operational strategies, plans, and objectives for the Insurance and Risk Management Unit.
  • Develop and deliver training seminars and conferences on risk management and contractual liability to empower government departments to conduct their own risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have extensive experience and knowledge in the principles of management, public and business administration, and their application to the administration of government activities. The Insurance Institute of Canada's recognized Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is required. The Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation would be considered an asset.
