Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments, collecting information from various sources, and making nursing diagnoses to determine the best course of care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers to ensure their needs are met.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery, and communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and families/caregivers on health promotion, illness prevention, and health maintenance.
- Document patient assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency nursing.
Ability to communicate effectively, promote person-centered care, and integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively. Ability to teach and instruct patients and families/caregivers about topics essential to their health care and well-being. Ability to organize and prioritize work, collaborate with the interprofessional care team, and use factual information to support nursing decisions and actions.
