About the RoleAs a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to make informed nursing diagnoses and develop effective care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide person-centered care and promote patient autonomy.
- Participate in care planning and coordination, ensuring comprehensive and effective care delivery.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient outcomes in accordance with practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
