Laboratory Analyst

Bureau Veritas Canada is searching for a dedicated professional to join our team as a:
Laboratory Technician - Pre-Incubation Lab (6-Month Contract)
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy.
- Adhere to all Bureau Veritas policies, including the Quality System and Health & Safety protocols.
- Conduct sample preparation and perform procedures related to microbial analysis of food samples while providing general laboratory support.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) for all laboratory tasks.
- Ensure precision in sample preparation and analysis.
- Utilize proper laboratory techniques to prevent mislabeling, sample mix-ups, and cross-contamination.
- Identify and report non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate training records and relevant qualifications.
- Meet quality and turnaround time specifications set by clients, ensuring timely analysis of samples.
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and compliant with good housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
- Ability to differentiate between various color reactions.
- Comfortable handling a wide range of food samples, including but not limited to peanuts, raw meat, seafood, beer, soy, dairy, and wheat.
- Strong communication skills.
- Dynamic, motivated, and positive with a proactive attitude.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent record-keeping abilities and attention to detail.
- Organized with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
