Overview:

The Engineering Design Specialist will report directly to the Design Manager and will play a crucial role in the creation and preparation of engineering schematics, plans, diagrams, and layouts derived from initial concepts, sketches, and existing designs.

Compensation:
$60,000 to $80,000 Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

• Generate and refine designs and drawings based on preliminary concepts, sketches, and specification documents.

• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) systems for drafting tasks.

• Proficient in 3D modeling software, particularly Autodesk Inventor.

• Familiarity with file management systems such as Autodesk Vault.

• Design products to facilitate easy fabrication and installation.

• Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) as required.

• Compile report packages and finalize drawings for production.

• Review and validate design drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and design criteria.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2-year diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design Technology from an accredited institution.

• In-depth knowledge of 3D modeling tools, especially Autodesk Inventor.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of deadlines and ability to perform under pressure.

• Capability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional representations.

• Experience in mechanical or industrial design is advantageous.

• Knowledge of various materials, including metals, plastics, and wood, along with fabrication and construction standards.

• Comprehensive understanding of drafting terminology, practices, and techniques.

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial.

• The organization is committed to providing 6 months of training to ensure success in this role.
